My journal has been resurrected to proclaim the following:
I denounce Tom Cruise and his rock hard ass, abs and other appendages, for marrying that trampy Joey Potter (aka Katie Holmes). My fantasies of her dying not-so-tragically in a blunt-weaponry mishap cannot coincide with my erotic fantisies involving Mr. T. C. Good. freaking. lord. Marrying her? HE IS 42. SHE IS 26. I am 23, so it's even a little disgusting for me to fantasize about him.
...hmm.

The best three days of that shitty year were spent on a cow farm where I wore my sneakers inside two big hand-me-down farm boots and got attacked by a cow that you antagonized. I screamed at the top of my lungs and you came and picked me up, right up out of the boots and carried me back to your mother and tea.

6:45 pm - Best Brownies
|
Earlier today I posted my fail-proof banana bread and mentioned this brownie recipe in passing. I call it junky because there really is nothing wholesome (no high quality ingredients, it even uses cocoa powder instead of real chocolate). I make these with the cheapest ingredients possible (no-name everything and margarine instead of butter) Here is the original recipe and a true story.
1/2 cup melted butter or margarine 1 c sugar 1 tsp vanilla 2 eggs 1/3 cup cocoa 1/4 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 c flour
Mix the butter/margarine and sugar together. Add rest of ingredients in the order they are listed mixing as you go. (mix after each ingredient is added). You can also throw in chopped nuts if that's your thing. Bake in a greased pan at 350 for 20-25 minutes. I "frost" them with a sprinkling of icing sugar because I'm lazy and also make crappy icing.
and the True story: I once made these and put them in the oven without putting the flour in. I pulled them out, stirred in the flour, and they still came out great. I don't really measure any more, just throw it all together. For instance, the 1/3 cup cocoa is really more like three heaping tablespoons. And I definitely use more than the 1/4 tsp of baking powder. I've also added melted chocolate to the batter, it makes them more fudgy but they're good in their original form too.

7:53 am - Heirloom/ring type question
|
I hope your summers are all winding down nicely.
My grandmother gave my sister and I her original engagement ring and wedding band. To make a long story short, she and my grandfather had to have a new set made because my grandfather's was destroyed at his workplace. My question is, is it appropriate to wear this beautiful ring (I got her wedding band) or should I put it away until I get married (someday)? If so, what hand should I wear it on? I have a grad ring that I have been wearing daily on my right ring finger. What would you do?

Even on my best days, the lyrics to "Black Star" make me cry. I get home from work and you’re still standing in your dressing gown, Well what am I to do? I know all the things around your head and what they do to you. What are we coming to? What are we gonna do?
Blame it on the black star, Blame in on the falling sky, Blame in on the satellite, that beams me home.
The trouble words of a troubled mind, I try to understand what is eating you. I try to stay awake, but it’s 58 hours since that I last slept with you. What are we coming to? I just don’t know anymore
Blame it on the black star, Blame in on the falling sky, Blame in on the satellite, that beams me home.
I get on the train and I just stand about now that I don’t think of you. I keep falling over, I keep passing out, when I see a face like you. What am I coming to? I’m gonna melt down.
Blame it on the black star, Blame in on the falling sky, Blame in on the satellite, that beams me home.
What is(are) your favourite line(s)?

How immature is it really, to set your MSN name to something cryptic to make others (namely people you're cross with) feel like they're dying to ask what its significance is?
Eg.: "Lindsay---EQs are the WORST"

So physical plant has set up some sticky bug traps to catch beetles at various places around the BAC (Beveridge Arts Centre) where I work.
Today my coffee-shop barista informs me that THEY CAUGHT A MOUSE IN THE ONE RIGHT NEXT TO THE COFFEE SHOP THAT I BUY MY COFFEE FROM EVERY DAY.
I could see its little corpse, still stuck in the glue trap while I sipped my usual Hazlenut Cream coffee.

1. What do you believe as far as fate goes? e.g. Everything is predestined, some things are predestined, nothing is predestined. Explain your answer.
On bad days, I believe that some things are predestined. Or when I can't explain something. Most days though, I try to write my own "destiny".
2. What is your preferred bathroom reading material, if any? Heh, something funny/entertaining. Like Reader's Digest.
3. Which stereotypical clique did you belong to in high school? The Band Clique. Actually I had a lot of varied groups of friends, but I did spend a lot of time "at band camp".
4. Do you believe that time is a straight line or is it cyclic in nature? I think it might turn out to be a straight line, but it's interesting to think of it cyclically.
5. Humanity and everything on the planet is going to be destroyed by [insert catastrophe/alien race/whatever you prefer here]. There is a shelter underground that you can hide in to avoid being destroyed. You can take three non living organisms with you to represent the life you once had before the catastrophe. What do you chose?
probably some pictures, my journal and my special pillow.
wait...isn't an organism by definition alive?

My room-mate got a new cat last night. Well, I say cat, and I use the term loosely. It is an adorable scrawny, pathetic, tiny, barely-has-fur, can't-really-hear-or-see, white rat-cat. I love him! His name is Oscar but we call him Timmy-cat (because of South Park rotting our fragile little minds, the disabled cat must be called Timmy). It was a rescue project of a local animal shelter and pet store.
As I said, the only way I could feel sorrier for it if it was missing its tail or something.
We still have the old cat, Shadow. They're not really getting along so well.
My room-mate and I had a cry last night over how something so small and helpless could be abandoned. It is darling.
In getting the cat she spent about $30 on it at Walmart. Toys, litter box, food dish, and I got it some flannel receiving blankets. It was $5 for 10, or $9 for one (Pooh-patterened) I went bulk and made the little critter a bed out of an empty clemintine box and a few of the cheap-o blankets.
Now I am at work and I miss the kitty.

Awhile ago I asked about blondie recipes in this community and didn't get a response (the same post asked about brownies, which many contributed recipes I have sinced used!! They were all great). I found a blondie recipe in my "Better Homes and Gardens" good old "red and white" cookbook. I made them last night and they were amazing. NONE are leftover from the barbeque :) So,here's the ( recipe )
